For a while now I’ve been pondering what to do with this blog, realizing that I don’t actually blog a whole lot, but still want someplace to have a focal point for all of my stuff. I thought about switching to Tumblr or Chyrp, since most of my ‘web output’ these days consists of tweets or video clips, but I really like WordPress and don’t want to go through the hassle of switching platforms. Especially when I can get this kind of functionality with a plugin. Since most of my blogging has been supplanted by tweeting, I experimented briefly with Alex King’s awesome Twitter Tools but realized that reading a week’s worth of tweets is actually kind of annoying.
I’ve found lately that I really enjoy FriendFeed and that its ‘life stream’ format is actually really appealing to read and follow. I’m going to test out that format with two WordPress plugins that implement similar functionality (David Cramer’s Lifestream plugin and Elliott Back’s WP Lifestream plugin). Hopefully I’ll get the desired effect I’m looking for and it won’t completely suck.
Once I sort this out I hope to also get back to occasionally writing about stuff again. Until then, Martha is doing an awesome job of keeping Eloise’s blog updated over at http://fourone.org/eloise/.
