Having a chat
Eloise likes to tell us about her day. :)
Checking in from the road
Martha, Eloise and Nanny Jeanne are out for a walk, so I thought I’d take a moment to post some pictures from our trip thus far. I apologize that I don’t have any pictures from the wedding to share, besides the ones taken by the photography crew will be much better. However here are a selection from the past couple of days of Eloise with various friends and family. Yes, she looks cute in them all, thank you for asking.
More pictures!
I just got done uploading all of the pictures thus far from my camera to Flickr, so please go and enjoy them. Martha will have hers uploaded soon as well!

Hello! I’m Eloise

Introducing Eloise Helen! Born on January 5th, 2008, at 1:17AM, weighing 6lbs 6oz, and measuring 19 inches. Both Martha and I are incredibly thrilled that she’s finally here. We might be a little biased, but we think she’s the cutest baby ever. Really. I mean, can you look at that face and honestly tell us she’s not beautiful? :)
Our friend Hannah was a great help during labor. She was with us from start to finish and was absolutely perfect. It was great to have her there to help us understand what was going on from the Midwife’s perspective and for her strong moral support. Labor is no walk in the park! On Saturday afternoon Martha’s mom Jeanne came into town and has also been absolutely wonderful. Doing dishes, sorting laundry, watching Eloise while we get some much needed rest, and feeding us.
Leading up to the birth Martha and I didn’t want to find out the sex of our little one, which made for a lot of fun predictions and chat. We never kept track but I think most people we talked to thought that we would have a boy, including both Grandmas. It was very fun to be able to say “It’s a girl!” when she was born, especially since I myself was not sure what she would be, and did not have my heart set one way or the other.
This will be the first post of many. I’ll close with a handful of pictures of Eloise. And of course both Martha and I will be uploading all our photos to Flickr as well. If you want to reach us at all, our email address is chrisandmartha at fourone dot org.
